Job Description	GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage and expedite shipments from an assigned region of the world including air, ocean, and export coordination through all phases of the international process (document review to service center delivery). Update and communicate tracking information to the customer within 24 hours of request. Maintain informed compliance and reasonable care standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements. Must be able to work well with fellow associates (or be an integral part of the team). May be required to perform additional duties as assigned by supervision. * "On-order" report reviews to coordinate shipping for efficient container utilization. * Tracking/tracing of international shipments using TMS or Internet service provider sites. * Communication of details for any cargo that does not fit standards set out by buyer or ITD for resolution. * Approval of cargo for departure from origin. * Coordinate documentation with cargo movement for optimal movement to destination. * Verification of purchase order terms with shipment details and communication with consolidators/forwarders to ensure proper routing and FOB. * Follow upon cargo and documentation from booking to delivery to service center. * Perform document review and issue DVC form to keep process moving. * Tracking shipment and completing steps needed while in pipeline, up to delivery. * Creation of import folders and other records to document the "life of a shipment". * Intricate knowledge of the practices, procedures, and personnel in assigned region. * Delivery coordination for expedited delivery. * Assist in classification of all commodities being imported. * Coordinate assignment of HTS numbers in advance of arrival of cargo and follow-up with appropriate parties to obtain needed information. * Expediting the resolution of any customs issues preventing clearance and coordinating with the department for resolution. * Must be able to work overtime as needed. Trucking Companies Obtain and communicate information Daily Required Experience: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree; or equivalent from a college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. TECHNICAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Computer skills - Word, Excel, Access Basic office equipment. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, prefessional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, clients, customers and the general public. REASONING ABILITY-PROBLEM SOLVING: Ability to plan and execute unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available.
